Hi everyone. Im new to this forum so I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I just have a quick question of something that I am not sure of and just wanted to clarify. I want to know when to use the M1V1=M2V2 equation. I know its mostly used for titrations and dilutions, but in some problems ive done in the past i get the wrong answer using this formula. Is it only used for strong acids/strong base titrations or can it also be used for strong acid/weak base titration and vice versa? Thanks so much and I look forward to any feedback anyone can offer me with this issue.

The equation can be used for acid/base, titrations or any chemical reaction involving ions. As a result, it is only relevant for the ions that are available to react with one another. In other words: strong electrolytes or strong acids/bases.
