| I understand how the 60L was calculated...but in the question stem, it specifies that reaction I was heated to 700 degrees Celsius which is way higher that the temperature at STP. According to the gas laws, deviation would occur and the increase in temperature will cause an increase in the gas volume...therefore I chose answer C (72L) as an estimate prediction. Would someone please clarify... |

Actually, the ideal gas law is applicable when the temperature is high (not low) and the pressure is low. Thus the mnemonic:
An ideal Plow and Thigh! ( PHY 4.1.8 ) |
