| Ummm.... what does nexus somatic receptors mean? I know what receptors are, but the other part, we aren't responsible, right? Maybe a test question? |

| The word "nexus" means a connected group of, in this instance, cells. Yes, the term is being used to make students uncomfortable and possibly choose it because they don't know what it means. But of course, the brain has no receptors for pain, heat, somatic (body system like muscle), etc. |
