I know I already nitpicked on an earlier question in this passage, but in the second to last paragraph the author specifically says, "In some cases our intuitions side more with genetics, in others, such as the example above, it seems that other factors are at work.

The discussion of spears seems to support C pretty clearly, even if the discussion came prior to the authors assertion.

Since C is discussed in the passage it cannot be the correct answer; the question asks for an answer implied yet NOT mentioned in the passage.

That's about the worst justification for elimination of answer choices A & B I've ever heard. Opinions need evidence but . . . A & B need PROOF!! What?

Reread the question:
Quote:
Which of the following is a claim made by the author but NOT supported in the passage by evidence, explanation, or example?

In order for the answer choice to be wrong, it must either be supported by an example, evidence or explanation found in the passage or be an idea never mentioned by the author.

Options A and B are not ideas expressed by the author and are therefore incorrect.

Isn't D a claim made by Nietzsche and not the author? The author is using Nietzsche to support his argument, but the claim itself is made by Nietzsche.
