Can we just assume that all normal children might enjoy playing with the same toys? Where in the passage does it talk about normal children?
I thought the answer was B becuase passage states that "self-stimulatory behavior...BEFORE age 30 months."
Even though punching herself is a mental disorder, the answer choice says 5 year old girl... Confused

Regarding paragraph 3, self-stimulation (ie masturbation) is very different from self-injurious behavior (ie. punching oneself). Note that in paragraph 1, these 2 features are iterated separately.

B. can be determined by the process of elimination as shown in the Explanation.

Not that it is necessary to solve the problem, but a boy who likes playing with Leggos or a little girl who like to play with the same dolls, would be quite normal.

I've read the passage twice now, and still can't get past the information in P3 Line 7, it talking about a child's preoccupation with certain objects. Granted in hindsight this description is for a child younger than 30 months (2 1/2 yrs old) it seems similar to ritualistic behavior as noted in P1. idk.....sigh
