Can we just assume that all normal children might enjoy playing with the same toys? Where in the passage does it talk about normal children?
I thought the answer was B becuase passage states that "self-stimulatory behavior...BEFORE age 30 months."
Even though punching herself is a mental disorder, the answer choice says 5 year old girl... |

Regarding paragraph 3, self-stimulation (ie masturbation) is very different from self-injurious behavior (ie. punching oneself). Note that in paragraph 1, these 2 features are iterated separately.
B. can be determined by the process of elimination as shown in the Explanation.
Not that it is necessary to solve the problem, but a boy who likes playing with Leggos or a little girl who like to play with the same dolls, would be quite normal. |

| I've read the passage twice now, and still can't get past the information in P3 Line 7, it talking about a child's preoccupation with certain objects. Granted in hindsight this description is for a child younger than 30 months (2 1/2 yrs old) it seems similar to ritualistic behavior as noted in P1. idk.....sigh |
