KE = (1/2)mv2 = kT

What is the k in this equation?

In the above equation, k is the Boltzmann constant, and T is the temperature measured in an absolute scale (i.e. the Kelvin scale).

Maybe the second statement should make it clear that KE/temperature is held constant?

actually its KE = 3/2 KT for molecule

KE = 3/2 RT per mole.

@asfino
"k" is the boltzman constant while "T" is the temperature in kelvin....

@quadalpha

(1/2)m*(v^2) = (3/2)*K*T
and we know that
PV=nRT................(i)
and we also know that
PV=(2/3)K.............(ii)
so putting value of PV from eq(i) into eq (ii)
RT=(2/3)K
&
3RT/2=K
