| I was under the impression that the stretch receptors were innervated by the parasympathetic nervous system, in which case the only system (to my knowledge) that is not innervated as such is the respiratory system? |

| Although the respiratory system is innervated with afferent and efferent autonomic nerve fibers, the parasympathetic nervous system IS the dominant neuronal pathway in the control of airway smooth muscle tone. |
