| The whole passage is about DNA replication/Mitosis. So why would we care about the haploid number? Wouldn't B make more sense? Cell division is more rapid. Who cares where it is rapid. |

| I always thought that the number of chromosomes has little effect as to the amount of DNA present in a cell, rather its the size of the chromosomes. I remember from a Zoology course that some lizards have a larger chromosome number than humans, but the amount of DNA in their cells is still less. I agree with your answer, but am not sure about part of the explanation. |

| Carp have a haploid number of 52.....that doesn't mean that they have more DNA than humans...as mentioned above, chromosome number does not mean more DNA... |

| I think we all had the same idea, but POE is most important on this question. I think this question can be tossed out based on ambiguity alone. Not many people without upper level bio courses will be able to know that large Chromosome number doesn't = more DNA. |
