| Of course the stoichiometric equation is provided in the passage (Reaction I) and the ratio, according to the balanced equation provided, between Cl2 and HCl is 1:2. Please let us know what part of the explanation that followed was unclear so we can address it specifically. |

Can someone please help with this problem?
I am confused by the solution to this problem.
2 times (10/71)times(1+35.5)= 2x10x(1/2)
I see where the 2 comes from, but where does the 10 and the 1/2 come from.
When I calculated the problem I got 2x0.14x37=10
I got the problem correct but I just want to be clear. |

OMG...I finally figured this thing out. I left it alone for awhile and never got a response. But anyway they divided the 36.5 by 71 to get 1/2 which leaves you with 2*10*1/2. The explanation actually made me more confused.
However, Gold Standard is awesome. The best test prep out there.
BTW, If you ever get stumped just put it aside for awhile. Sometimes we get so stressed we over think things.
Good luck everyone.
