-I was doing some problems where it said that in absence of salt bridge for galvanic cell, cations will go towards cathode? I don't understand this because I thought cathode was positively charged in a galvanic cell .Thanks.

If there is no salt bridge (or equivalent) then spontaneous movement of electrons in the wire is halted (completely) and the galvanic cell simply will not work. I see no logic in cations moving towards a cathode in an electrochemical cell that can't even function.
