The answer cannot be B because (a) the passage said that HBsAg is a protein thus it cannot be a "nucleic acid"; (b) to have immunity against a pathogen (virus, bacteria), it must attack the surface (plasma membrane, cell wall, viral capsid) but antibodies can't cross the surface of pathogens to get inside.

Lastly, something you definitely don't need to have known, but normally Ag stands for antigen and from the passage HB is hepatitis B. The s is for surface.
