my last question didnt get answered Confused i have another one as well, hopefully someone will respond.

on reaction rates, will the stability of the transition state increase the rate?

Just so you know, we have full support for questions for students in our Platinum Program. Otherwise, for students registered in the MCAT Exams Program, we provide support for questions related to the exams.

When things aren't busy, sometimes we do some extra work but this has been a very, very busy time of year!

Kazuma,

It is a very good question. Stability and rate refer to two different things. Keep in mind that stability is a thermodynamic aspect, whereas rate is (what else Wink) the kinetic aspect of the reaction. Therefore, increased stability of the transition state species doesn't necessarily guarantee a higher rate of reaction. In fact, they are two different things.

I hope that helped.
Good Luck
