Standard MCAT Prep is 3-6 months with an average of 1-6 hours of prep per day. If you have a 4.0 GPA and you have been reading The Economist and you know what NYT and OED stand for, then it will be on the lower end of the time scale. If your GPA is below average and your leisure reading time is limited to X-Box instructions and TV Guide then 6 months will not be long enough.

And, of course, there is another factor: your ideal GPA. On average, students shoot for a cumulative score of 30 but if you are aiming for an Ivy League school then a 30 would be below the average of accepted students. You can see average MCAT Scores at www.mcattestscores.com. Good luck!
