There are only a few questions in the text The Gold Standard. The book is meant as a complete science review which can be used in conjunction with the Gold Standard Flashcards and DVDs to help solidify the knowledge for the MCAT.
It's true that some programs have many review questions which are not similar to the MCAT at the end of the chapter. We offer the following: (1) for students who really want "lessons" after a chapter review, we have MCAT University online (see our home page: www.mcat-prep.com) which contains MCAT-type chapter review questions online with answers and explanations; or, what you already have access to, we believe you should regularly take online MCAT CBTs to consolidate your knowledge for the MCAT. This is far better than doing review questions which are unrelated to the MCAT.
Prior to the MCAT CBTs, you will see a link for Advice which will give you some pointers on how to use the exams which you should begin sooner rather than later. It will help you to realize what you need to memorize vs. what you just need to have a general understanding.
In summary: focus your practice on GS and AAMC practice MCAT CBTs to give you the most authentic experience. |
