What is the difference between answers B and C?

B: Only one of the two chromatids in each chromosome would be labeled.

C: One strand of each chromatid would be labeled.

Arent there 2 chromatids to a chromosome?

Thanks!?!

yikes... I feel that my problem lies in the definitions of chromosome and chromatid.

I know the correct answer to the question, but the terminology is just messing with me!

I'm currently looking into it, but any help would still be appreciated :/

Yes, you are correct: there are 2 chromatids in a chromosome.

The real question that you should consider before reading further is: how many strands of DNA are there in a chromosome?

That is the key question since the correct answer is referring to strands within a chromatid. There are four strands of DNA in a chromosome thus 2 strands per chromatid.

Sorry to bring this question back up but i am still confused regarding the strands of a chromatid. Don't chromatids refer to the replicated chromosome? The X if you will represents a replicated chromosome, consisting of 2 sister chromatids, correct? Where do the strands come into play?
