Clearly your knowledge is too advanced for the MCAT, but let's still clarify things.

Usually, a primary alcohol will turn to an aldehyde first and will then be further oxidized to a carboxylic acid.

The only time the alcohol stays as an aldehyde is when the oxidizing agent is PCC (pyridinium dichromate) because this means that there is no water in the solvent, meaning that there can’t be an OH group added to the aldehyde in order to form the carboxylic acid. (P. 918 Yurkanis Bruice)

Anyway, what gives away the answer is the answer choices;we know that:

C=O : 1780-1650
C-H of Aldehyde : 2820 and 2720
O-H (carb.acid) : 3300-2500
O-H (alcohol) : 3650-3200

The only answer choices that fit in this category are B (3500>> OH alcohol) and C (1720>> carbonyl). Clearly option B shows "leftover alcohol" which has not reacted, leaving option C as the only "product" answer; the only valid option.
