Usually the AAMC will say that organic chemistry is between 1/4 and 1/3 of the Biological Sciences but lately it has been alot less than that (often just one passage plus some independent questions).
As a rule, I still would not suggest just giving up on Orgo because it is very straightforward for the MCAT (it is nowhere near introductory college level final Orgo exams). It is mostly based on electrostatics with very, very little to memorize (ie. some basic rules, a little IR data, etc). You never have to memorize what product comes which reactants because it can essentially always be determined quickly based on electrostatics. You'll find that the videos cover all of it in less than 5 hours. |
