I don't really understand why 2 pH units is equal to a 100 fold H+ concentration and not 10 fold.
For example, if the 2 pH units range is from pH 3 to pH 4 than the H+ concentration changes from 10^-3 to 10^-4 which is a 10 fold change in H+ concentration.
Am I going about this the wrong way? |

You gave the example of a pH range from 3 to 4:
4 - 3 = 1
That is a range of 1 unit so the exponent of 10 is 1 thus 10 fold.
A range of 2 units would be, for example, pH of 3 to 5:
5 - 3 = 2
This is a range of 2 units so the exponent of 10 is 2 thus 100 fold. |

I was thinking 2 pH in range of equivalence point
so it should be within -/+ 1 pH within equivalence point
if you do math 1 - (-1) = 2
RANGE of 2 |
