this is a terrible question, and i am appalled...
PCR does not synthesize nucleotides, period. when PCR is performed, nucleotides are included in the reaction, so that DNA polymerase can "synthesize" DNA strands. there are never any more nucleotides than were present in the beginning.
in fact, if one wanted to go with this question of synthesis versus breaking down, one would be forced to answer that the nucleotides are broken, this is, they go from NTPs to NMPs during a PCR reaction. |
