| If you look at table 1, you will see that the iodoform test, is not only valid for methyl ketones but also for acetaldehydes, ketones, and secondary alcohols with the CH3CH(OH)- group (secondary alcohol or methyl alcohols). The test gives a pretty clear explanation. |
