How can it be 8 g. after the first half life left with 4 then another h-life, 2 and the 3rd h-life 1 g left.
I don't understand the problem. thanks! |

Yes, you are correct.
Keep in mind that the original sample is pure Tl and weighs 8g (which we have determined in the Explanation). And since there is only 1 g of the original sample left (Tl), then according to the conservation of mass, the other 7 g must be present in the other product of the reaction, ie Pb. |
