1. Although many of Johnson's critical opinions resemble those of the neoclassical critics, his basic concerns are closer to those of the Romantics. [x]
2. The usual classification of Johnson as a member of the neoclassical school of criticism is based on an inaccurate evaluation of his critical theories and ideals. [x]
3. The Romantic critics were mistaken in their belief that the critical ideas they formulated represented a departure from those propounded by Johnson. [x]
4. Although many of Johnson's critical opinions resemble those of the Romantic critics, his basic concerns are closer to those of the neoclassical critics. [x]

INCORRECT:
Your Answer: D
Correct Answer: A
Explanation
Whole passage, especially the 1st sentences of the first 3 paragraphs

I chose A and was thrown off by this phrase "in other ways, too, Johnson's critical method has much in common with that of the Romantics, with whom Johnson and, indeed, the entire neoclassical tradition, are. I thought the "critical opinions" and "critical method" were the same thing.

22) There is a rather subtle difference between "method" and "opinion" but that is not the point of the question. Overall, the passage is saying that Johnson was thought to be closer to the neoclassical tradition but he is actually closer to the Romantics. The rest is just "blah blah blah" to make everything sound more confusing than it is.
