As the author mentions, the noise food makes when eaten changes the opinion people have on the food. However the noise food makes can either be very positive or negative.

Therefore, deaf subjects would be more focussed on the food itself (taste and smell) and be more picky by not being distracted by the noise it makes. This means that the subjects will be more subjective and not objective.

I agree that this is confusing and basically when an answer choice is ambiguous it should not be chosen.

You are removing a distraction --> more objective.

Think of it this way:

1. dress affects people's perception of singers
2. one judge is blind and can't see what the singers are wearing
3. a different judge can see and is distracted by a particular singer's neckline

Which one is more objective?
