Here is a thread where students have been discussing their GS MCAT CBT scores vs their AAMC scores: http://www.mcat-prep.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=313

Also, after you have done another GS MCAT CBT, I suggest you go to the Members page and click on the link to take the AAMC Practice Test 3 (MCAT CBT, it's free). Once you get a taste of a real past MCAT, it will give you more confidence in the level of preparation that you are getting.

NB: AAMC tests 8-10 are more in tune with the current real MCAT than test 3 but at least you will get an overall perspective so you don't just have to rely on rumour or even me telling you that you are on the right track (which I believe, but you need to see for yourself!).

Hi,
Unfortunately I have already used almost all (3-9) AAMC practice tests for practice and prep. i got 7 in vr7R and vr8R, but a 3 in 3R and 4 in 9R. I'm seriously running out of verbal reasoning material (even kaplan's and TPR's and EK's) . I am now scoring in the range of 6-8 but believe need some more(much more) practice material. I can seriously read a page of written material in my language in 40 seconds..no matter how hard. But this is English..my 6th language i might add, and I have a tough time passing VR!! What is your advise?

You are obviously very skilled when it comes to languages given your knowledge base and the fact that you write English well. Scoring 7's on an AAMC test is a base for improvement but it is difficult to explain a 3 or a 4 unless your strategy was severely off track or that you got caught trying to micromanage one or two passages and then could not finish most of those 2 tests.

The following includes some VR advice that I gave other students:

I just took my mcat in september and had the SAME problem (focusing and comprehending the passages). I took all 10 of the CBT. At first my verbal score was at 8 and then dropped to a 5. I started to get real nervous and could not concentrate anymore. I got a 5 on my real mcat exam. What has helped is just reading--reading anything. Concentrate on details and try to read fast. I am planning to retake the mcat in January--so Im just concentrating on Verbal till December. Good luck

um first off, ive been making 5s and 6s on my verbal reasoning with AAMC and princeton. I made an 8 on the first verbal reasoning, and i was like half awake. Im wondering if it gets harder, becuase i had 15 minutes to spare when i was done it was just insanely easy. Taking easy test like that i dont think will help me prepare for my test.

If it's so easy why not shoot for a 15? Regardless like was stated above it's to get confidence up and get used to the format of the exam. They get harder as they go. Like stated above number 3 is an old mcat whereas 8-10 are more indicative of todays MCAT
