The word "fiord" is used in the passage in the following contexts:
In P2, P3 and the rest of the passage, ships are always entering a "fiord" by water. Thus it must be a place where people live (land) but associated with water (ie, inlet of sea). Answer choice C includes both ideas.
In P3: "the township of Elvegaard in Herjanes Fiord"; because a township is a small town or a subdivision of a county, that means that "fiord" cannot be a populous city. Thus answer choice D is not possible. |
