Actually, glycolysis makes 2 ATP directly and so does Kreb's (through 2 GTP per molecule of glucose; recall that one molecule of glucose takes you twice around the Kreb's cycle).
The big picture is that there are enough ways to challenge you in the sciences. Word games, like indirect vs direct ATP production, is not necessary for the MCAT (it happens but only rarely). In other words, whenever possible, keep it simple. |
